Parrots on the Tree


Parrots are like other birds, but they have different colors like red, yellow and blue. They eat seeds and carrots. These parrots live in the jungle at the zoo.

Pythons are Big


We saw this python at the zoo. We thought it was big. When pythons eat, they squeeze and swallow their prey. They like to eat mice and rats.

Penguins Standing Around


Did you know that there are 22 penguins in this picture? This kind of penguin does not live in the south pole. They live in warm weather, and they are by the giraffes at the zoo.

Moray Eel Hiding in a Hole


Did you know Moray Eels eat octopus and fish? Moray Eels stay in their home and wait for fish to swim so they can catch them.

Mantis Shrimp in the Coral


Mantis Shrimp look kind of like little colorful lobsters. Every other time at the zoo, the Mantis Shrimp is hiding in the coral, but today he was out of the coral so I took this picture.

Apatosaurus, the Giant Plant Eater


This is an Apatosaurus. Did you know that Apatosauruses have teeth? But they don't use them to eat meat, they use them to eat plants. Apatosauruses are almost like Diplodocuses and Brachiosauruses.

Deinonychus Eating an Tenontosaurus


Deinonychus means "Terrible Claw". There were three of them eating a dead Tenontosaurus. Deinonychus have a big claw on their feet that they use when they hunt.

Mosasaur on a Rock


This was a sea dinosaur instead of a land dinosaur. This looks a little like Maelstrom from Ice Age 2: the Meltdown.

Tyrannosaurus Eating a Triceratops


Today at the Children's Museum we saw these dinosaurs and my dad took a picture of this T-Rex. Inside of them was robots and they put plastic on them and they painted them just like a dinosaur. They moved just like a dinosaur. They had speakers inside so they sounded like real dinosaurs.

Prairie Dogs


When prairie dogs go in their hole, there is like a big city under the ground. When they go in the hole, they can hide from animals that are trying to eat them. They can go under ground and come up another hole.

Otter Swimming


Otters are almost like sea lions, but a little different. We saw this otter at the zoo swimming.

Peacock Showing his Feathers


We saw this peacock sticking his feathers out. They were by the prairie dogs and the vultures. We saw about six peacocks on Sunday at the zoo. We saw one peacock who was not grown up yet. He tried to stick out his feathers, but they were small. He looked funny.

Me and the Dolphin Statue in Santa Barbara


While me and my dad were in Santa Barbara, we saw this dolphin statue at the front of the beach by Stearn's Wharf.

Polar Bear with a Ball


This polar bear was trying to get out of the zoo by bouncing a ball against the wall over and over. If you don't believe me, watch this video! (huge file... 130MB)

Petting a Bamboo Shark


There's a new touch tank at the aquarium at the zoo. Today I petted a bamboo shark. The animals that were in the touch tank today were a hermit crab, two horseshoe crabs, starfish, coral and a bamboo shark.

Sea Lions in the Ocean


We saw these sea lions on a buoy in the ocean and they were floating. There were two in the ocean and a lot on the buoy. We also saw gray whales. We saw a mommy, a daddy, and a baby gray whale. We saw lots of pelicans, and a harbor seal too. The boat rocked because of the waves in the water. It was exciting!

Riding an Elephant


On Sunday, my daddy and I went to the circus. The best part was when I got to ride on an elephant! This is an African elephant, and it is the largest land animal on Earth! It was kind of a bumpy ride, but it was fun being up so high.

Happy Birthday to Me!


On Saturday, I celebrated my sixth birthday by having my friends come to a great birthday party! We had cake and pizza and we played games all day. I had a wonderful time!

Great White Shark


Great White Sharks have very sharp teeth. A Great White Shark has a lot of fins. There are some on its back. This Great White Shark was hanging from wires in the aquarium. It's just a pretend shark. I took this picture all by myself. Great White Sharks have big eyes.

Octopus on the Glass


Octopuses have 8 tentacles. My dad and I haven't seen the octopus for a long time, but today we saw it at the aquarium at the zoo. I took this picture myself. Octopuses squirt ink so the enemies will swim away. Octopuses have big heads.

This is a cheetah walking. They run fast. They are the fastest animal on Earth. They are spotted like a leopard. The tips of their tails are black. They are yellow and black. They are fast so they can catch animals.
